Ratings-Based Sites I Can’t Live Without

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Summer vacation plans are already in our sights.  You?  And thinking of where we will go (with kids & without) it occurs to me how much I rely on the Internet to plan our vacation time.

So here is what I am asking:  I am asking you all to log in to some website and rate some things.

Believe it or not, I really rely on ratings and rankings on certain websites.  Yet I NEVER rate things myself.  Why is this?  I trust my own judgment way more than anyone else’s (because I rock, obviously).  And even though I looooove to share my opinion, I never get online and share it on websites.  When prompted to “rank” and “rate” things I decline.  Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Then it is time for me to plan my vacation and the hubs and I spend time trying to figure out where to eat: “Oh, we can’t go there, that is only 29 on the TripAdvisor list.”

I am addicted to these rankings-based sites because I would rather see what “real” people say when travelling than rely on any tourist-guide produced list.

But if I am not logging in and rating, and if folks like me don’t log in and click some stars, then who is doing it?  And can I trust them?  But since I love and trust up all, here are the sites and places I need you all to log things so that I can be on my A-Game all the time.

Top rankings-based websites I need you to log in to and use:

1-  TripAdvisor.
This is THE go-to site for us in all ways: recreation, restaurants, hotels.  I have the app on my phone even.  I love this site and it has yet to steer us wrong.

2-  Yelp.

3- VRBO.  (Vacation Rentals By Owner)
If you rent a place through VRBO please go back and share your experiences.

& then because they are travel related and keeps me occupied during travel time…

4- Google Play.
I read the reviews and look at those stars.

5- GoodReads.
I trust the people I follow and am friends with immeasurably and, even if they don’t know it, they help me pick books.

Do you all use these?  And more to plan?  Give me other sites with help me.  What ones am I missing?

I am a huge Trip Advisor fan, both as a reader of reviews and a reviewer. I could not do my road trips with out that site and it has never let me down. When I’ve chosen to ignore the advice (“it can’t be that bad.”), I’ve paid for it! I’m also a huge GoodRead user.

I LOVE VRBO! We rent a place every summer for my son’s birthday celebration and have found some of the best places with amazing kitchens and stuff! TripAdvisor rocks, too!
